Move Forward Without Excusing What Happened
In 3 live sessions, learn what biblical forgiveness actually requires, what it doesn't require, and where to begin when reconciliation or trust isn't possible yet.
Maybe you've prayed about it.
Maybe you've told yourself a hundred times that you need to let it go.
Maybe you genuinely want to obey God.
But then something reminds you of what happened...and you're right back there again.
And underneath all of that may be a bigger question:
What exactly is God asking me to do when he commands me to forgive?
Does forgiveness mean forgetting? Does it mean reconciliation? I can forgive, ok, but never trust again, is that right? What if they never apologize? What if it still hurts? But it's so unfair, who will do me right?

Mey Deras
Biblical Counselor | Bible Teacher
I spend a lot of time sitting across from women who say some version of: "I want to forgive. I've tried. I know I have to, but I feel stuck. Why is it so hard?"
Often, the problem isn't that they don't love God or don't want to obey Him. It's that forgiveness has become entangled with everything else, such as thinking, "If I forgive it means that person gets away with it." Or "They're not remorseful, why should it be me letting it go?" And this confusion can make forgiveness feel almost impossible.
My work is helping women slow all of that down, open Scripture, and separate what God is actually asking of them from the things He never asked them to carry. That's exactly why I created Free to Forgive.
For 3 days, I'm taking the same biblical distinctions I use in counseling and making them simple enough to understand and practical enough to begin applying.
Not to pressure you into saying, "Forgive and forget." But to help you finally know what your next faithful step actually is.
In This Challenge We Will Cover
Understand What God Is Asking You To Do
Challenge what you've been taught about forgiveness and identify the beliefs that may be keeping you stuck.
"If I had known what I know now, I would've never married him; now I'm stuck here"
Stop Confusing Forgiveness With Allowing Harm
Get a better handle on forgiveness, reconciliation, repentance, and trust. It'll help you see how to tackle a broken relationship more clearly.
"You had all this time to repent, and now that I'm leaving, you want all the past to magically disappear?"
Know What To Do Next
Walk away with a biblical first step you can actually take, even when the other person hasn't apologized, changed, or made things right.
“I can’t control the hurt she caused me, but I am responsible for how I respond to it. This truth has changed my life!”
FAQ
Is this counseling?
No. Free to Forgive is a group educational challenge rooted in Scripture and biblical counseling principles. It is not individualized counseling, therapy, or crisis care.
What do I actually get when I register?
- Three live teaching sessions,
- Guided reflection workbook for each day,
- 30 day access replay
- Practical application, and a simple framework to help you better understand forgiveness, reconciliation, repentance, and trust.
I’ve read a lot of books on forgiveness and prayed a lot. Can this still help me?
Yes. In fact, this may be especially helpful if you already know a lot about forgiveness but still feel unclear about how to apply it.
Sometimes the issue is not a lack of information. It’s that forgiveness, reconciliation, repentance, grief, and trust have all gotten tangled together.
This challenge is designed to help you sort those pieces out and identify what your next faithful step actually is.
What if the offense was serious?
The challenge is not going to ask you to minimize serious wrongdoing or pretend every situation should be handled the same way. We’ll focus on biblical principles that help you understand your responsibility while still making room for wisdom, consequences, and appropriate boundaries.
Do I need to attend live?
Live attendance is encouraged because you’ll get the most out of the experience by participating with us in real time, but replay access will be available for 30 days if you cannot attend every session live.
I’ve forgiven, but I still ruminate on what happened, and I struggle to trust again, even in other relationships. Is this challenge for me?
Yes. Forgiveness doesn’t mean your thoughts, emotions, or trust immediately return to normal.
Sometimes the hurt still affects how you see other relationships. In this challenge, we’ll separate forgiveness from rumination, grief, reconciliation, and trust so you can identify what still needs attention and what your next faithful step looks like.
The goal isn’t to rush trust. It’s to keep the past from defining every relationship that follows.
What if the person has never apologized?
That’s one of the situations we’ll specifically address. You do not need a willing or repentant offender in order to benefit from the challenge. We’ll talk about what your responsibility looks like before God, even when reconciliation is not currently possible.
Do I have to contact the person during the challenge?
No. You will not be required to confront, call, message, or reconcile with anyone in order to participate. The first work we’ll focus on is your own response before God.
What can I expect to walk away with after these three days?
By the end of the challenge, you’ll have a clearer understanding of what biblical forgiveness actually is, be able to recognize some of the beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, and know practical first steps you can take toward forgiving without excusing what happened or confusing forgiveness with reconciliation.
You’ll leave with a biblical framework you can keep using as you work through hurt, anger, and the questions that come with forgiveness.
And if you want help going deeper into specific situations and the more complicated parts of forgiveness, I’ll also share an option for continued learning after the challenge.
What if I’m not sure I’m ready to forgive?
Come anyway. You do not need to manufacture readiness before joining. The purpose of these three days is to help you understand what forgiveness actually requires and identify your next faithful step.
What is the refund policy?
You may request a full refund up to 48 hours before the first live session by emailing hello@meyderas.com
Because this is a live challenge with digital materials and event access, refunds are not available within 48 hours of the event or after the challenge has begun.
Will Free to Forgive always be $27?
$27 is a one-time introductory price for this round of Free to Forgive.
I created this challenge as an accessible first step for women who want biblical clarity around forgiveness before committing to a larger course or counseling process.
You’ll receive three live teaching sessions, guided resources, and practical application built from the same biblical counseling principles I use in my work with women.
Future rounds of Free to Forgive will be offered at a higher price, so this introductory rate will not be available again.
If you’ve been wanting help getting unstuck, this is the best time to join.

Ok, Enough Overthinking This
If you want to forgive but still feel stuck, come spend three days untangling what forgiveness actually is, what it isn’t, and what your next step can look like.
No pretending.
No rushing reconciliation.
No acting like it didn’t hurt.
Just biblical clarity and a practical place to start.
